10 Reasons

1. SECURED TRAFFIC RELIEF FUNDING

Secured record funds (over $400 million) for current and future Ewa Beach traffic relief, which includes the North South Road, East West Road, & UH West Oahu. She will continue to make traffic relief a priority. The drive on Fort Weaver Road has been reduced from 45 minutes to 15-20 minutes. She is working to reduce traffic on H1 by adding more lanes, a new zipper lane to Ewa and bringing more jobs to West Oahu.

2. SECURED SCHOOL FUNDING

Secured record funds ($104 million) to build, expand, repair and maintain Ewa Beach Schools. As the number one supporter of Ewa Beach schools, Rep Pine believes that Ewa Beach can have the best schools in the state. She will continue to make school funding a priority.

3. PASSED TOUGHER CRIME LAWS

Passed tougher crime laws for violent career criminals, child molesters, graffiti, arson and identity theft.

4. DEFEATED TAX INCREASES THAT WOULD HAVE HURT EWA BEACH RESIDENTS

Lead the fight at the capitol to defeat a 25% increase in taxes on food, rent, medical care and maintenance fees which would have hit Ewa Beach residents hard. She will continue to fight against tax increases that would hurt our economy and our ability to provide for our families.

5. CUT GOVERNMENT WASTE

Authored the Hawaii Waste and Mismanagement Report that documentedalmost $1 billion in government waste. Rep. Pine will continue to find waysto save taxpayer money so that taxes are not raised.

6. SOLVED SCHOOL FURLOUGHS WITHOUT RAIDING THE HURRICANE RELIEF FUND

Legislators have been trying to get their hands on the Hurricane Relief Fund for years and used the crisis as an excuse to raid the fund. Rep. Pine developed an alternative budget showing that the fund did not need to be raided. She will continue to fight against bad government at the capitol.

7. STRONG ADVOCATE FOR SELF-RELIANCE

Works at a homeless veterans shelter, which developed innovative ideas to promote self-reliance and less dependency on government. Her clients have the highest success rates in the state and have their dignity back.

8. CLEANS-UP EWA BEACH

Part of a leadership team focused on cleaning up Ewa Beach. She willcontinue her work on beach clean-ups and graffiti clean-ups.

9. MADE EWA BEACH A PRIORITY

Brought over $600 million to the district for projects and programs that Ewa Beach residents need. This is six times more than the previous incumbent. Re-electing her ensures Ewa Beach continues to be a priority at the Legislature.
